Great service from Derek and the team in the service department. Thanks for looking after my car these last two years. You’ve always done an excellent job and if I’m ever back in a Mitsubishi I’ll be in touch 👍
Recently bought a car from James Barry Motors and will definitely be recommending this dealership to friends and family. I was dealing with Paul who was a pleasure to deal with. Paul was very helpful and organised everything, the whole process was quick and hassle free.
Fantastic customer service, really lovely people, can't recommend them highly enough!
You’d think you’re dealing with a main franchise dealer, so you’d expect honesty—but that was far from my experience. They employ the same sleazy tactics as lower-end dealers. I bought a used car with known issues (my mistake, but I was in need of a car and trusted their word). I had the salesman’s word that these issues would be addressed. The car had problems with the steering, brakes, and a broken mirror cover. I double-checked with the salesman that these would be taken care of, as the receipt mentions an engine and gearbox warranty. He said that’s just something they write, but assured me they’d fix the issues for sure. I brought the car to the garage, and while they gave me a courtesy car, they **did not** fix the issues. I brought it in a second time, and they claimed they’d ordered the parts and would definitely fix it this time, but once again, the issues were not resolved. They kept telling me they’d ordered the replacement mirror cover and were just waiting for it (this was a blatant lie). The third time I brought the car, James Barry, the owner, got in the car with me, drove it, and admitted there was an issue. Then he said they wouldn’t fix the car, claiming it wasn’t covered by the warranty and that the salesman (Paul) shouldn’t have told me otherwise. He was also rude and condescending and remarked on the car being old, well if it's old and broken then why sell it. This is incredibly disappointing, especially coming from a main dealer with their “shiny windows,” but at the end of the day, they lied, misled me, and wasted my time. I was even willing to pay the overpriced amount they asked because I thought I’d have peace of mind—but I was mistaken.
I visited on Thursday 6th Feb midday to look at a Skoda Superb Estate valued ~ €40,000. I asked for a valuation on my Nissan Juke 2017 for part exchange. Ger Sheehan took photos of the car and told us he would be in touch later that day after he checked with his counterparts in Charleville. Unfortunately we did not hear back. I called on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the following week for an update. On every occasion, Ger was unable to take the call and I was told he would call back which he did not - on Thursday I spoke with the receptionist who was very nice and I explained the situation (she apologised on behalf of Ger and told me she would personally have him call me the next morning - I’m still waiting…). In the end, I closed with another dealer for the same car having received a personalised video, part exchange valuation and great customer service. This was a terribly underwhelming customer experience and in the end it raised many red flags, I would encourage others to tread very carefully with James Barry Motors.
