Avoid Boland's Mini/BMW dealership at all costs I had an extremely disappointing experience with Bolands, what I thought was a reputable car dealership in Waterford city. I purchased a second hand Mini, which was a Japanese import, and was assured by the sales advisor that the onboard computer features (in Japanese) could be converted to English before the vehicle changed hands. This never happened and subsequently found out that it was never possible. Additionally, I was informed that the engine size was 1.5 litres, standard for this model in Ireland, only to later discover it was a 1.2 litre engine. The biggest and most alarming issue is that the car they sold me wasn’t registered correctly upon import, causing significant issues with insurers, none of which were flagged during purchase. All this was bad enough but the most frustrating part was the aftersales service. The sales executive offered no solutions, then passed me to the sales manager, who promised a callback within 24 hours. A week later, with no response, I was referred to the general manager. The general manager admitted the car shouldn't have been sold, as the sales team hadn’t checked essential details. It was only 4 weeks later that I was given my money back after consistent chasing. In total, I dealt with four different staff members over four weeks, each more unhelpful than the last. The customer service was abysmal, with the staff displaying a shocking level of incompetence and lack of training. I would strongly advise avoiding Bolands to spare yourself the headache. There are plenty of other dealerships with more knowledgeable and professional staff. An absolute joke from start to finish!
