Stars and their cars: What do the rich and famous drive?

We delve into the world of celebrity to find stars with a love of cars.

If you're a successful celebrity, then you'll probably have made enough money to fulfil your dreams when it comes to owning a car or two. But for some, the habit is something that can career out of control, whether it's expanding a collection into the hundreds, or being able to create your own bespoke machines, often with a manufacturer's blessing.

Here we pick some celebrities and their rides, the rarer or more unique, the better.

Kim Kardashian - Lamborghini Urus, Rolls-Royce Ghost, Mercedes-Maybach S 580

One of the most famous celebrities of all, Kim Kardashian has a fleet of pretty rare cars in her collection. But it's the Lamborghini Urus, Rolls-Royce Ghost, and Mercedes-Maybach S 580 that stand out for one common reason, the fact that they’ve been painted a very special type of gray just so they could match the exterior of her house. Kim wanted them to “blend in” with the mansion, and for that, she was willing to dig deep into her pockets.

Will.i.am - Will.i.AMG

Pop star Will.i.am isn't afraid to get his creative juices flowing when it comes to customising cars. He has a garage full of one-off creations, including a wild looking DeLorean, a one-off machine that looks like a cross between a Morgan and a classic Bentley, but is based on a 1958 VW Beetle, and his most recent build, a Mercedes-AMG GT with suicide doors and a front end inspired by the Mercedes G-Wagen.

John Terry - Ferrari 275 GTB

While other English Premier League footballers buy the latest SUVs and luxury cars, former Chelsea captain Terry has saved his salary for something a bit more special. The 275 GTB is one of the most beautiful Ferraris of the 1960s, and was worth at least €1.5 million when Terry bought it in 2015. While red is standard issue for most Ferraris, Terry's GTB is a shade of blue that's more in keeping with Chelsea's home strip.

Eric Clapton - Ferrari SP12 EC

The Centro Stile Ferrari division creates one-off models for paying customers, including this model built in 2012 for guitar hero Eric Clapton. It's based on the then-current 458 Italia, so has a 570hp naturally-aspirated V8, but Ferrari draped it in bodywork inspired by the 512BB that was created with input from Clapton himself. It's reported that the build cost €3 million.

Tony Hawk - 1964 Corvette Stingray

Famous skateboarder Hawk is used to alternative types of four-wheeled propulsion, and this Corvette convertible uses a Tesla's 300hp electric drivetrain. It's still rear-wheel drive, while the set-up is completely interchangeable with the original V8, which Hawk has kept.

John Cena - MGC GT V8

Former WWE star Cena is now a Hollywood star, and counts this heavily modified MGC GT, featuring a 600hp 6.2-litre V8 and a manual gearbox, among his collection. Cena's a big fella, so the seats are pushed back, and the pedals are moved forward so he can fit, which will be handy if he decides to make full use of that power in a car that weighs less than a tonne.

Kevin Hart - 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner

Comic movie star Hart owned the first Ferrari SF90 in the USA, but he has also commissioned this one-off Roadrunner featuring a 940hp Hemi V8 engine. There's a six-speed manual gearbox, bespoke suspension and Brembo brakes, while the custom wheels are wrapped in modern Michelin tyres. The black and orange colour theme is a homage to the movie Halloween, and there was enough leather trim left so that Hart could have a pair of custom-made trainers to match the car.
