In Ireland, Motor and Road Tax prices are based on three different assessments; engine size if your car was manufactured before July 2008, CO2 emissions output (NEDC) if your car was registered between 1st July 2008 and 31st December 2020, or CO2 emissions output (WLTP) if your car was registered after January 1st 2021. When you purchase motor tax for your car, you can choose to tax it for a period of three months, six months or 12 months.
