Held in the town on the eastern edge of Co. Galway, this brings together vintage cars, tractors, commercial vehicles and steam and stationary engines together for Ballinasloe’s Country Fair. CARRICKMACROSS VINTAGE EASTER RUN, 2020
Held at the annual Easter holiday, this one is for vintage car fans living further north. It kicks off in the Co. IRISH CLASSIC & VINTAGE MOTORSHOW, TERENURE, DUBLIN, JULY 2020
Easily the biggest classic car show in the country. The 2019 edition on July 7 was the 28th running of this prestigious event, simply known as Terenure in the classic community, and up to 1,500 classic and vintage cars were display on the day. It typically runs from 10am-5pm and entry costs around €15 for adults, €10 for senior citizens, €5 for children or €30 for a family pass. Prizes for ‘best in show’ vehicles are presented in the main arena at 4pm. One not to miss and it is organised by the Irish Jaguar & Daimler Club.
KILTULLAGH & DISTRICT VINTAGE SHOW, MAY 2020
Typically held on the May Bank Holiday weekend in the Co. Galway village, this has a strong agricultural vehicle display each year, but there are also plenty of classic and vintage cars involved – from historic Americana and older European classics, to more modern stuff up to the 1990s era.
LIMERICK CLASSIC CAR SHOW, MAY 2020
This is one of the biggest classic car get-togethers in the south of the country, bringing in some really varied older motors (more than 800 exhibits in 2019, including the biggest congregation of German classics in Ireland) for show goers to gawp at, and it’s held in the spring every year at the city’s racecourse. Also known as Motorfest Ireland.
RETROMANIA, MONDELLO PARK, JULY 2020
This is a show for 1970s, 1980s and 1990s machines, held at Mondello Park in Co. Kildare. Displays of retro cars from this wide era in history are supplemented by themed events, activities and foods. This year, there were also drifting and rallycross events on the track for fans of modern motorsport machinery.
RIAC CLASSIC SHOW, MARCH 2020
Supported by the Irish Veteran and Vintage Car Club, and the Irish Vintage Scene magazine too, this is another big annual classic car gathering. The Royal Irish Automobile Club event moves around but was most recently held in Dublin.
