It’s not the full protection of your No Claims Bonus, but a system that preserves some of your NCB for a lower premium. Basically, if you had, say, 75 per cent NCB and you had an accident under Step-Back, your next premium would offer you something like 30 per cent NCB. If you had full protection, you’d maintain your 75 per cent.
