Hi Sarah,
Well, a budget of around €10k would pretty easily see you into a 2007 Audi A4 Cabriolet, and there is possibly no finer four-seat convertible around – it's handsome, reliable, not bad to drive and reasonably affordable to run. Plus, the roof is thick enough and warm enough to make it viable winter transport.
Another firm favourite is the Fiat 500C, and that kind of budget would get you into a 2012 example. Looks cute, is fun to drive and costs buttons to run.
Or how about a classic? The R107 model of the Mercedes-Benz SL (that’s the square ‘Bobby Ewing’ one) has been steadily gaining in value for the past few years but we found a 1973 edition advertised at €9,999. A truly gorgeous car, and great to drive, but set aside some budget for regular maintenance.
Or, if you fancy some old-fashioned sports car fun but want something that’ll be reliable, how about a Nissan 350Z Roadster, which we found on sale for €9,750? Big V6 up front, two seats in the middle and the wind in your hair. Drinks juice but unburstable and reliable.
