Hi, just looking at what the VRT would be for a Porsche Boxster S like this one? Thanks!
Hi Tomas,
I'm afraid we can't see the car you are referring to so we can't hope to give you an accurate estimate.
You'll need two things to work out the VRT. The first is the CO2 emissions, which gives you the VRT band. Most versions of the Boxster S through the years will be in the top band at 41 per cent.
Then you need the OMSP (Open Market Selling Price), which is a value Revenue comes up with that may have no bearing on what you actually paid for the car. This is the value Revenue believes the car to be worth on the market in Ireland. Without further details about the car we can't hope to make a guess at that for you.
The VRT is then simply 41 per cent (in this case) of the OMSP.
Don't forget there will also be a NOx levy to pay and, if importing from England, Scotland or Wales, import duty and VAT as well.
Ask us anything motoring related and please provide as much information as possible so we can give you the most accurate advice.
