Should I change a timing chain?
Seat ibiza FR. 2012. 1.2 petrol. Asked mechanic about changing timing chain. He advised not to change until it breaks. Sounds redicolous. When I bought it Garage said it needs changing.

You're absolutely right: that does sound ridiculous. If a chain breaks while you're driving, it could do serious engine damage and could even cause a crash.
While there are no set replacement schedules for most timing chains, a good mechanic will be able to advise you whether one is noisier than it should be. In that case, it's worth changing the chain.
