Is a high-mileage i30 ok?

is 250,000kms in hyundai i30 2015 worth buying?

Our answer:

Hi Genevieve,

Wow, that is an extraordinary mileage for a three-year-old vehicle of any make; it means the i30 has done more than 80,000km each year! Hyundai does offer a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty, which in principle means this car still has two years’ worth of cover on it. However, that warranty excludes vehicles that have been PSVs or taxis, and with 250,000km on the clock, it’s extremely likely that this Hyundai has spent its life ferrying people about for cash and is therefore excluded from the warranty. We’d say avoid, unless the car in question is sub-€6,000 and immaculate with a strong history – for example, 2015 i30s with a much more reasonable 160,000km on the clock fetch around €10,000 in good condition.
