Just the usual – check all the electrical systems for any gremlins and check for any signs of wayward or noisy suspension or steering and don’t buy it without a full service history. Because it’s a classic long-nose, short-rear sports car, you’ll also want to check the front of the car carefully for cosmetic damage. You’ll also want to check that the hood is in good condition and still fully waterproof. One word of warning – the Z4 was always a really hard-riding car and it’ll have your fillings out on a lumpy Irish back road, so be aware of that.
