Yes, sometimes, owners can be unlucky and have an engine failure on a relatively young car, but normally these are rare occurrences and they’re normally covered by a manufacturer warranty. By the time a car has done 177,000km, like yours, there is little doubt the engine has proven its reliability. If you look after it properly, with regular servicing and upkeep, and you make repairs as and when they’re needed, there’s no reason why the Nissan couldn’t go on for another 177,000km on the same engine – maybe even more.
