Cars do not have an in-built ‘expiry mileage’: they can go on indefinitely, or they can fail at much lower mileages than is the norm. As long as the i40 you’re looking at is in very good condition, has a good service/maintenance history and drives well, it should easily soak up 200,000-300,000km and wouldn’t struggle to achieve 500,000km, either. Hyundai has a good reputation for reliability.
