How much longer can a 2013 ford focus last when it already has 140,000 miles on it? What are the pros and cons?
Hi Jonathan,
High mileage in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing and a Focus that has done around 10,000 miles per annum is not out of the ordinary. The pros to buying a high-miles used car is that the values are kept low, as – some years ago – cars could feel worn out by 100,000 miles, but they’re a lot better in terms of longevity nowadays. The cons are that you need to check the Focus’ condition and history very, very carefully before committing to buy. In reality, that Focus – with the right care and attention – could go on for another 140,000 miles, maybe even another 280,000.
