How do I scrap my car?

How do I scrap my car?

I would scrap my car, to whom I have to talking to or call about?

Our answer:

Hi Andras,

If you mean take up one of the ‘scrappage’ deals currently on offer, then all you need to do is talk to the dealer for the brand you’re interested in buying, but be aware that many of the so-called ‘scrappage’ schemes are nothing of the sort, and are just a way of boosting your trade-in allowance. If you mean you want to actually have your existing car towed away and broken for parts and scrap, then you need to get on to your nearest vehicle disposal facility (check the Yellow Pages or Google). They will, or at least should, ensure that all of the car’s recyclable parts are disposed of properly, as are the fluids, batteries and the scrap metal left over. You may have to pay a charge for having the car scrapped, as the price of scrap metal on the global market is at an all-time low.
