Can I drive my new car without tax?

NEW CAR I HAVE NO TAX YET DID NOT RECEIVE THE RF100 FORM CAN I DRIVE MY CAR

Our answer:

Hi Richard,

Technically speaking, no, you are not legally allowed to drive the car without a valid motor tax disc visible. Contact the dealer that sold you the car to see what the delay is.

Saying all that, generally there is an allowance made for newly registered cars so you're likely to get away with a warning if you are stopped. Make sure you have paperwork with you to show you only recently bought the car if you are going to drive it.
