Belt or chain in this Polo I'm buying?
Hi there i’m looking to buy a VW Polo 1.0 litre 75 BHP beats 2016 tomorrow. It is from a Honda franchise dealer. The salesman has confused me when i asked “does it have a timing belt or chain”. He firstly said it’s a belt that need’s to be changed every 6 years. Then the next day said it was a lifetime chain. I have looked online and that has just confused the hell out of me. Can you help Please.

Hi Neville,
That engine has a timing belt for sure, but it's what Volkswagen calls a long-life timing belt that's supposed to be almost for the life of the engine.
