Belt or chain in my SEAT Ibiza?
Hi I have a seat Ibiza 2015 1.2 petrol do you know if it has a timing belt or chain? And if a belt at what mileage does it need changing please Kind regards Hazel

Hi Hazel,
There was a significant model year change for the Ibiza in 2015. Up to that, the 1.2-litre petrol engines used timing chains. After that, the 1.2-litre engine used a belt. There doesn't appear to be a set schedule for replacing the belt; instead, it must be checked by a mechanic at 240,000km and then every 30,000km thereafter until it's deemed necessary to replace it.
