Volvo s40,any problems I should look for or ask about if buying?
Hi Barry,
Assuming you mean the 2004 to 2013 model, you’ll need to check the 1.6 diesel engine carefully to make sure it’s been properly serviced and had a good quality oil used (otherwise the head clogs up with waste oil), and they suffer from problems with the electronic ignition and central locking. It’s also not worth buying the 1.8 Flex-Fuel model as you can’t get the E85 bio-fuel for them anymore.
Ask us anything motoring related and please provide as much information as possible so we can give you the most accurate advice.
